Ashley's practice explores pedagogy through the rhythms and exchanges of everyday life. Drawing on embodied knowledge carried through food, green domestic spaces and conversation, she is interested in how learning takes place outside of formal institutions; through participation, shared experiences and the ongoing act of being with others. Influenced by the writing of bell hooks, her work approaches education as a practice shaped through dialogue, care and collective exchange.
Working close to home, Ashley uses workshops, mapping and conversation to explore how communities build and share knowledge together. Her practice considers how access to land, learning, and resources might be reimagined through collective action and everyday acts of participation, asking what pedagogy becomes when it is rooted in lived experience rather than institutional structures.
